Bans for the 2016 Season

Postby Jon#606 » Wed 20 Apr 2016, 9:39 pm

Drivers will be warned and could be banned for breaking the following rules during meetings:

1. Oppo (wrong way) on straights; this is defined as "wrong way driving wholly outside of the marked corners or wrong way hits outside of the marked corners"
2. Oppo at any time in a Championship race
3. Pitting and rejoining any race (including the DD)
4. Lossy hits against the barriers
5. Hits from the infield
6. Intentional blocking or pinning of another racer that does not allow them to race
7. Cutting across the infield (on layouts with an open infield) in all races (including the DD) to either gain a race advantage or to hit another driver
8. Intentional hard hitting on grid while lining up (as in hits which ruin the grid completely)
9. Breaking the Clutch Cooling Rule
10. Breaking the Rolled Rule
11. Not going forward from the start of a race, e.g. intentionally braking on the grid or intentionally reversing off the grid. This does not apply to the DD.
12. Changing car during meeting.

A rule break in a standard race / DD will result in a warning being issued.

A rule break in a Championship final will result in a double warning being issued. The standard rule applies to other races in Championship meetings.

For rule 12, 2 "mini-warnings" will be issued for this offence before it constitutes a warning, i.e. if you changed car 3 times, the third change would result in a warning.

3 warnings will result in a 1 week server and 2 week meeting ban. In the event of a driver receiving over 3 warnings in a meeting, the warnings after the third will be ignored. In the case of an appeal resulting in one of these warnings being rescinded, the additional warnings will be used to discipline the driver instead.

If a driver receives 3 more warnings after their ban expires, they will receive a 2 week server and 4 week meeting ban.

Collecting 3 more warnings after this ban (9 in total) will result in a 4 week server and 8 week meeting ban.

Collecting 3 more warnings after the third ban (12 in total) will result in a permanent server and league ban.

Warnings will expire 4 weeks after the meeting in question and all bans will start from the date of the meeting.

Bans will be removed from the records a year after the date of expiry.

With the forum issues that lasted covered four meetings, I was unable to enforce any disciplinary action.

All warnings from before 18th March (Graded Meeting Round 3) have expired. There are currently no warnings in force.

Disciplinary action will resume from this forthcoming Friday (22nd April) with Graded Meeting Round 4.

Please accept my apologies for not issuing any disciplinary action from the 22nd April onwards like I promised.

The truth is I have genuinely forgot about doing this after meetings. Whether this has something to do with the forum switch or issues in real life, I'm not certain.

Following certain incidents in the 2016 British Championship meeting last Friday, warnings will now be issued from that meeting onwards.

The following bans from the 2015 season have been removed from the records as they expired over a year ago:

From 2015 Graded Meeting Round 4 (18/04/15)
Ian #98 (Bailey98)
Niall #910 (Niall McFerran)
Phil #460 (phil13)

If any of these drivers pick up another warning, it will be issued as a First Warning and not a Fourth Warning.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following the British Championship on 13th April. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

I am pleased to announce that no double warning was issued to any driver in the British Championship. This could have resulted in a driver only having 1 instead of 2 warnings left or a possible ban if a driver already had a First Warning.

Heat 5
Youngy #200 (youngy_202) on a FIRST WARNING for coming off the infield to hit another driver.

Incredibly poor from a very experienced driver. Originating from a hit on Macca in heat 2, Youngy and Aaron #70 had a war throughout the meeting that culminated in this ridiculous shot. After waiting on the infield for Aaron to come back around, #200 pulls off from the infield and hits #70 against the wall. Driving off the infield in situations like these is not allowed.

Heat 6
Youngy #200 (youngy_202) on a FINAL WARNING for reversing off the grid.

Far too blatant. Youngy shifts into reverse before the lights had even started and floors it back into Brett #186. You must go forward at the start of a race unless it is a DD.

Brett #186 (predator186) on a FIRST WARNING for coming off the infield to hit another driver.

This was a result of the above incident. It is still completely unnecessary. Don't retaliate otherwise you'll get warned too.

To summarise
Youngy #200 (youngy_202) is on a final warning. If Youngy breaks the rules again inside four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Brett #186 (predator186) is on a first warning. If Brett breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Just the three warnings issued on a championship night, which is good to see.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following Unlimited Round 2 on 3rd June. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

Heat 3
Jordan #83 (jordan83) on a FIRST WARNING for oppo on straight.

The above incident and many others in the meeting originated due to one of the most embarrassing and pathetic arguments I have ever seen in my years of competing in LFS Bangers. During Heat 2, Ellis #823 (ellis82) noticed that Macca #919 (coley919) had a skin on that he had made him which said "I <3 Ellis" on the side. Unknown to Macca, he had named a skin with the exact same name as one Ellis had uploaded, i.e. the "I <3 Ellis" skin. Upon discovering this, I told Macca to change his skin to another one to stop the argument. What followed was a barrage of immature abuse and general misbehaving over an issue that could have easily been sorted beforehand.

Macca was then targeted by Ellis and his brother Jordan #83 for the rest of the meeting. Jordan did Macca on oppo on the back straight in this heat.

Heat 4
Jordan #83 (jordan83) on a FINAL WARNING for oppo on straight.

See the note on heat 3. An awful shot on oppo from Jordan on Macca on the front straight.

Heat 5
Macca #919 (coley919) on a FINAL WARNING for hitting a driver from the infield. and then lossy hit against the barrier.

Aaron #70 (aaron380) on a FIRST WARNING for lossy hit against the barrier.

See the note on heat 3. This was Macca on Ellis followed by Aaron #70 doing a lossy shot against the barrier.

Heat 6
Jordan #83 (jordan83) on a FIRST BAN for reversing off the grid. The server ban will expire next Wednesday (15th) and the meeting ban will be served during the 10/06/16 and 17/06/16 meetings.

Complete idiocy. Jordan has managed to get himself banned inside a meeting for two atrocious oppo shots and then caps it off by slamming it into reverse and going straight into Aaron before driving off; his excuse to Aaron of being in the wrong gear at the start is a total lie as he had shifted into reverse well before the lights had even started, indicating the reverse start was intentional. Jordan has demonstrated that he can be a competent driver on occasion, but can easily get upset and ruin that side of him, and this night was one of those. As with all drivers who receive bans, I hope this does not affect his future participation in the league.

Final
Splat #228 (splatster) on a FOURTH WARNING for oppo on straight.

Foolish from someone who, having been banned already this season, decided to break the rules again. Splat hits Jordan #83 outside the marked zone after an earlier incident between the two. Please don't hit drivers on the wrong way outside of the bends.

To summarise

Splat #228 (splatster) is on a fourth warning. If Splat breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 2 weeks from the server and 4 weeks from meetings.

Jordan #83 (jordan83) has picked up a 1 week server and 2 week meeting ban for breaking the rules 3 times in 4 weeks. He will be eligible to race meetings again on the 24th of June.

Macca #919 (coley919) is on a final warning. If Macca breaks the rules again in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Aaron #70 (aaron380) is on a first warning. If Aaron breaks the rules again breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Seven warnings broken, including one ban, that all stemmed from a very minor incident where someone had a skin named the same as someone else. This is a total joke. If you want to act like children, do it on another server and not on ours.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following Banger World Series Round 5 on 24th June. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

Heat 1
Aaron #70 (aaron380) on a FINAL WARNING for lossy against barrier.

In what was surely a continuation of the incidents from Unlimited Round 3 on 3rd June, Aaron performs a terrible lossy hit on Ellis #823 against the barrier after waiting for him to come around the bend and then drives into him. Please don't do this sort of thing.

Heat 3
During the last heat of the meeting, both Ellis #823 (ellis82) and Jordan N. #83 (jordan83) were permanently banned from the server after they had gone too far for the final time.

Jordan driving into Splat off the start and pinning him against the barrier in this heat is just one example of why he was banned for good.

Heat 4
As above, Ellis demonstrated why he received a permanent ban as well with a completely nonsensical display of wrong way driving in this heat, proclaiming he was only trying to get onto the other bend. Please go the right way if you're wanting to go on oppo.

Heat 5
Splat #228 (splatster) on a SECOND FINAL WARNING for blocking of driver.

Very poor again from Splat. At the start of this heat, he decides to slam on in front of Jordan N. #83 and stay there for 5 seconds without moving. Please go forward at the start of a heat.

Heat 6
Youngy #200 (youngy_200) on a FIRST WARNING for lossy against barrier.

Another bad shot, this time from Youngy on Jordan N. #83 against the barrier. If a shot looks tempting enough to break the rules, just hold yourself back and don't try it.

Heat 8
This was the final straw. For no reason whatsoever, Jordan N. #83 does Youngy #200 on oppo on the front straight, causing him to get catapulted in the air after Jam #616 hits his underside.

I have to say I am absolutely astounded by both Ellis and Jordan's complete lack of self-discipline throughout their time in the league. Neither driver wanted to learn or follow the rules despite my repeated attempts to get them to do so and they caused so many needless arguments that it resulted in some drivers actually quitting the league. What's sad about this is that in glimpses, they were well behaved, usually when they weren't together. But it was getting to a point where it was clear this would just go on and on without any end, so action had to be taken.

To summarise

Splat #228 (splatster) is on a second final warning. If Splat breaks the rules again in four weeks, he will be banned for 2 weeks from the server and 4 weeks from meetings.

Aaron #70 (aaron380) is on a final warning. If Aaron breaks the rules again in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Youngy #200 (youngy_200) is on a first warning. If Youngy breaks the rules again breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Three warnings in total, which is better than the last time warnings were issued but this came at the cost of 2 permanent bans.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following 2 Litre Best Buds on 8th July. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

Heat 3
Luke #779 (luke133) on a FIRST WARNING for continuous blocking.

Throughout the meeting, Luke had a war with The Youngs (Youngy #200 and Nova #220) which included some poor rule breaking. This was the first significant instance: with Youngy behind him, Luke blocks him from going past despite moving and does this for about 10 seconds. This is completely unacceptable: you are not allowed to prevent someone from racing in this manner.

Luke #779 (luke133) on a FINAL WARNING for hit off infield.

Again, a monumentally stupid hit. This time Luke decides to drive into Nova from the infield only a few laps after the above offence. Hits off the infield are also not allowed.

Luke #779 (luke133) on a FIRST BAN for oppo hit on straight. The server ban will expire next Tuesday (19th) and the meeting ban will be served during the 15/07/16 and 22/07/16 meetings.

Luke has somehow managed to outdo Jordan N.'s stupidity from earlier in the season and got himself banned by breaking the rules three times in one race, with the last warning being issued for a hit on oppo on Youngy on the front straight. I cannot understand why Luke went to these lengths to try and take out the Youngs; he has been banned before so surely he should have learned from it. Luke would have been on a second ban but his first ban from a year ago expired on the night of the meeting. As with all drivers who receive bans, I hope this does not affect his future participation in the league.

Final
Nova #220 (youngy220) on a FIRST WARNING for hit off infield.

Poor from Nova. In an attempt to hit Luke, he does Cap #27 head-on from the infield on the front straight. As before, please don't do these hits.

To summarise
Luke #779 (luke133) has picked up a 1 week server and 2 week meeting ban for breaking the rules 3 times in 4 weeks. He will be eligible to race meetings again on the 29th of July.

Nova #220 (youngy220) is on a first warning. If Nova breaks the rules again breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Four warnings issued, all but one to the same driver in the same race. There's no need for this sort of thing.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following Grades Round 7 on 15th July. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

Heat 4
Looney #870 (The General Lee) on a FIRST WARNING for hit off infield.

Very poor from Looney. After he was nudged into the tyres by DarkMetalTim #669 a few laps before, he decides to cut across the infield and door him into the barriers, which pushed DMTim down from 4th to 6th. If you are taken out, please don't do something this childish to get revenge.

To summarise
Looney #870 (The General Lee) is on a first warning. If Looney breaks the rules again breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Just the one warning issued following this meeting, which is very good but we can always do better and get through a meeting with no warnings.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following Unlimited Best Buds on 9th September. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

Heat 4
Splat #228 (splatster) on a FOURTH WARNING for pitting and rejoining.

The first warning issued since mid-July was for a very silly error. Right before the race was going to start, Splat pitted and then rejoined after the race started, thereby spectating him. He then rejoined the race track through an open section of the barriers at which point he was told to spectate. If you miss the start of a race, please wait for the current race to finish before rejoining.

Heat 6
Pepino #960 (pepino960) on a FIRST MINI-WARNING for car changing.

Splat #228 (splatster) on a FIRST MINI-WARNING for car changing.

Silly from these two experienced regulars; Pepino had used a RB4 all meeting and changed to XRT while Splat's was the other way around. As car changing is a minor offence, it only results in mini-warnings - three mini-warnings will result in a full warning being issued. Please make sure not to change car unless the meeting specifies that you can change car.

DD
Bokito #212 (marcodejong) on a FIRST MINI-WARNING for car changing.

Same as above, except Bokito changed to FXO from RB4.

To summarise

Splat #228 (splatster) is on a fourth warning. If Splat breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 2 weeks from the server and 4 weeks from meetings.

Splat #228 (splatster) is also on a first mini-warning. If Splat changes car again twice in four weeks, he will receive a second final warning.

Bokito #212 (marcodejong) and Pepino #960 (pepino960) are both on first warnings. If either driver breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, that driver will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

The first rules broken since mid-July that saw a full warning and three mini-warnings issued; a rather tame set of broken rules but warnings have to be issued for broken rules. Let's hope they're the last rules broken this season.

Here is the disciplinary action taken following the 2 Litre World Final on 16th September. Races that are not listed contained no rule breaks.

Last Chance Race
Mr. T-Bone #312 (hessel99) on a FIRST WARNING for oppo on straight.

Complete nonsense. In a three car race with only the top two qualifying for the World Final, Mr. T-Bone gives up four laps in and decides to go the wrong way on the straight to hit Michal #47 to help out his fellow Dutchman Calimero #856. Please keep your oppo on the bends and not on the straights.

2 Litre World Final
Pennywise #380 (luukvries10) on a FINAL WARNING for lossy against barrier.

As this offence was committed in a major championship race, it counts as a double warning. On Lap 10, Kane #238 was leading the race and after Jam #616 hit Pennywise #380 into Kane, spinning both of them out, Pennywise then decided to force Kane into the barrier for no reason and end his race by rolling him. There's no reason why you can't take the leader out, but to do so in such a poor manner just isn't on.

To summarise

Pennywise #380 (luukvries10) is on a final warning. If Pennywise breaks the rules again in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Mr. T-Bone (hessel99) is on a first warning. If Mr. T-Bone breaks the rules again breaks the rules again twice in four weeks, he will be banned for 1 week from the server and 2 weeks from meetings.

Just the two warnings issued in such a big meeting, which is excellent, but one of those was in the big race.
