10/04/2020: UNLIMITED WORLD CUP RESULTS & REPORT

Before I start this report, I must strongly apologise for the way I ran this meeting. It was nowhere near my usual standards and I felt terrible about it. Just a few points I'd like to mention:

1. When the mini-league was announced, it was stated that in light of the real world situation, all drivers were to behave sensibly during meetings. Unfortunately, this evening saw the culmination of a situation involving multiple drivers (I will not name them as they know who they are) that sent the meeting downhill, with incorrect complaints of illegal hits in one instance. I will repeat it once again: PLEASE COULD ALL DRIVERS BEHAVE SENSIBLY DURING MEETINGS!

2. The World Cup race suffered a disastrous error where I entered the /zero_all race reset command twice on the opening lap. I was very angry at this and it unfortunately threw me off massively for the rest of the night. I again apologise to everyone who was impacted by this, especially in the second Allcomers where it was not made significantly clear that the race continued into the DD, followed by not actually realising that the DD had concluded much earlier than I thought it had!

If you enjoyed the meeting regardless, then I can only thank you for not letting the above ruin your meeting like it did mine.

Onto the meeting itself and 13 drivers went across the Scottish border to Cowdenbeath for the all-wrecking action of the World Cup. The "entertainer" of 16 Zotez was a notable returnee to LFS Bangers, having not raced for a while. FXO "specialist" 606 Jon and XRT expert 961 Pepino were the only drivers not to go for the trusty RB4 tonight.

The first six heats were allocated as qualifiers for the World Cup race itself, and amazingly saw a tie between Team Bandicoot's 66 Colin and Team Huichen's 199 Taylor at the top of the standings; Colin won three heats compared to Taylor's one and so secured pole. 621 Miniman won the other two heats but due to failing to finish the first three heats ended up fifth on the grid. The full table and grid can be seen below; 240 JL did not compete in the World Cup so while he has been included for completeness, he has been struck out on the grid.

Despite being polesitter, 66 failed to convert his advantage as he was persistently bullied by Zotez, getting knocked down the order earlier on and instead had his Team Bandicoot teammates Miniman and Pepino take over at the top. However, the TB twosome were both controversially removed from contention by Team Huichen pairing 171 Airis and 675 Beatdrop on lap 16, letting 2019 World Cup winner Looney go in front and would keep the lead to win this year's World Cup. 961 recovered for second while 199 claimed third. Taylor and 616 Jam were the Allcomers winners while Pepino claimed the DD.

The top 10 scored in the heats, the points for which went to the World Cup grid.

24/04/2020: APRIL FUN MEETING RESULTS & REPORT

A solid showing of 14 drivers attended the first fun meeting of the 2020 mini-season. With fun meetings being open to all, this meant a number of unregistered drivers competed in Belgian Ahmed, UK-based driver Matzi and Bulgarian Alex. There was also a mega blast from the past in the form of 444 Pikey, who last raced in LFS Bangers nearly 10 YEARS AGO!

Just the six drivers won races this evening, and 616 Jam came out on top with five wins, two in the Micros, two in the very entertaining Ramp Drag Races and one in the 2 Litres. Team Huichen teammates 171 Airis and 675 Beatdrop picked up three wins each, the latter his first wins in a LFS Bangers meeting; Airis claimed both Unlim heats and the other 2 Litre oval heat while Beatdrop won the last Micros heat, a ramp race and the 2 Litre DD. Tilson was the winner in the sole Figure 8 Ramp Race on the night, Jon was the surprise winner in the evening final at the very popular Westhill Oval with its infamous posts and Alex won the other Ramp Drag Race.

All races were non-points. Congratulations to all the winners.

08/05/2020: ROBINS CHAMPIONSHIP RESULTS & REPORT

A superb turnout of 18 drivers attended the second and last non-points meeting of the 2020 mini-season at Warton for an evening of entertainment with the always hilarious XFG "Robins". A new driver took the daunting step of making this his first meeting, but Polish driver 993 Vitas, a regular of the Destruction Derby nights run in conjunction with PiranMOTO, had some good showings despite a few regular rolls! ;) Later on in the meeting we also had two returning drivers from LFS Bangers seasons gone by in Swiss driver 145 Celeritas and Jamaica's 560 Cyankiller.

As with the World Cup last month the first six heats formed the qualifiers, and despite the unpredictability and unwieldy nature of the XFG "Robins", the first three heats were in fact rather predictable with Team Bandicoot's 621 Miniman continuing his domination from last week by taking the lot. Miniman's teammate 997 Rik then took control with a heat win of his own, but the returning 786 Brett broke the TB streak to claim Heat 5 with 85 Mozza continuing his impressive debut "season" with Heat 6. The full table and grid can be seen below; 337 Spook competed in Heat 1 but had to leave the meeting due to internet issues, while 217 Tilson qualified for the Robins Championship but did not race in it. This is why 337 appears in the points table but not on the grid and also why 217 is struck out on the grid.

It was a flag-to-flag domination for 621 as he had no challenges whatsoever amid the chaos of cars rolling all over the place and took the Robins Championship from Brett in 2nd and Rik in 3rd. He then continued his streak with the first Allcomers and the DD, with 66 Colin squeezing in between to take the second Allcomers; in total, all but TWO races went the way of Team Bandicoot!

The top 10 scored in the heats, the points for which went to the Robins Championship grid.

29/05/2020: MAY FUN MEETING RESULTS & REPORT

Another good turnout of 14 drivers attended the second fun meeting of the 2020 mini-season. As with last month's fun meeting, a number of unregistered drivers competed, with Turkish pairing 789 MgPro and Lozi, Polish driver 13 Qpa and UK-based driver 187 Marty P. all racing.

Only the four drivers picked up wins this evening, and it was 66 Colin who won the most with four victories, succeeding in both the Ipswich and Warneton Unlimited races before claiming the fun night final in the Micros at Standlake before a remarkable DD victory which saw him roll 666 Beatdrop and 997 Rik within seconds of each other! Rik had his own wins tonight as well, with the Ipswich 2 Litre heat backed by both 2L Ramp Races. 616 Jam was also a triple winner in the Wimbledon and Birmingham Unlims as well as the Yarmouth Micros Figure 8 race, and 673 Sam rounded off the list of winners with the Yarmouth 2 Litre Figure 8 and the Birmingham 2 Litres.

All races were non-points. Congratulations to all the winners.

26/06/2020: JUNE FUN MEETING REPORT

A surprisingly high showing of 15 drivers attended the third fun meeting of the 2020 mini-season. As with all fun meetings, a number of unregistered drivers competed (almost half of the attendees!) and they were: Russian 15 Okhotakrepkoye, Bulgarian 777 Karadaya, Finn MaitoMies, Estonian WellDone, Belgian Ganjaman, Brit Spyman, and Team Huichen's "Jamaican" member Josh.

Six drivers were winners this evening and it's no surprise to learn that 621 Miniman was the dominant driver, with 5 wins in total. They came in both Blackwood Shale Oval heats and all three Gizmo Stadium races including the all-XRG final. 616 Jam was the winner in the Crimond Micros race with WellDone claiming the Yarmouth Figure 8 race. The close of the meeting saw 5 Drag Ramp races, with two won by 673 Sam, two won by 666 Beatdrop and the middle one won by Ganjaman. Beatdrop then won the Closed Wall Sumo DD.

All races were non-points. Congratulations to all the winners.

31/07/2020: JULY FUN MEETING REPORT

Unfortunately a proper fun meet was not able to be held tonight due to a lack of drivers. At 8:00pm there were just three in the server: Sam, Vitas and myself. I gave it until 8:15pm to see if anyone else would turn up but sadly that did not happen. I did expect this to happen due to today being the hottest day of the year in the UK, but was surprised to only see 3 attend.

No races were held and therefore no results were therefore recorded.

28/08/2020: AUGUST FUN MEETING REPORT

Just 8 drivers attended the fifth and final fun meeting of the 2020 mini-season, which was a Figure 8 Special. Just the one unregistered driver raced, and that was Irish racer Sahin.

Owing to the rather destructive nature of the Figure 8 layouts - which resulted in the Micros ramp race ending with no finishers! - it was no surprise to see survivalist 616 Jam come out on top with three wins in the heats and the final. 673 Sam and 993 Vitas won a heat each while 628 Jesse claimed the DD.

All races were non-points. Congratulations to all the winners and to everyone who participated in the fun meetings in 2020.
