17/04/2020: MICROS ROUND 1 RESULTS & REPORT

A solid showing of 13 drivers attended Aldershot for the first round of the Micros' points championship for a night that produced some fine racing action as well as two Allcomers full of wrecking action! I am pleased to report that the issues which plagued last week's World Cup meeting did not reoccur, with all the incidents from last week put behind and a more focused admin(!) ensured the meeting ran smoothly. Two drivers made their first appearances for quite a while in 217 Tilson and 337 Spook from the World Class Wreckers team.

It was one of those returning drivers who came out on top as Tilson emerged victorious from an incredible battle with 85 Mozza to claim the meeting by two points. Despite not winning a single race until the final, 217 picked up three 2nds and two 3rds in the heats before winning the meeting with 69 points and then claiming the second Allcomers as an added bonus. Mozza picked up two heats alongside a 2nd in the final and 3 3rds to finish second overall. Due to the Team Huichen drivers all being ungraded in the Micros, they had a significant advantage over the rest of the field and blitzed the heats, with the previously mentioned 85 being joined by 171 Airis in the double heat winner's circle. 199 Taylor got a heat as well as the first outright DD win of 2020 to secure third overall, with 240 JL also picking up a heat victory; such was the solidity of Team Huichen's performances over the night that apart from the more wrecker-minded Beatdrop, 4 of them finished inside the Top 6, with Spook the only other non-Huichen driver in there. Jam was the best of the rest, picking up the first Allcomers.

Top 10 scored in heats and final. Two Allcomers were also held. Drivers in 11th or lower finished but did not score points. 5 points went to the DD winner.

Miniman is ahead of Sam on the points table due to a higher best race finish (Miniman's 2nd to Jon's 5th).

03/07/2020: MICROS ROUND 2 RESULTS & REPORT

A slightly lower turnout of 11 drivers attended Taunton for the second round of the Micros' point championship. The evening saw some superb racing as well as some sensational wrecking, with a three car train in Allcomers 1 surely the highlight of the night! The evening saw two English newcomers to the league - 235 KifKyle, one of the Team Huichen drivers, made his full debut having previously raced in a fun meet and 333 Moon who only learned about the league on the night of the meeting! There was also an incredible blast from the past as LFS Bangers' godfather himself 27 Cap made a return, having last raced at the 2018 2 Litre World Final.

As has been for most of the season, it was once again 621 Miniman who came out on top... but his winning margin wasn't as significant as it has been recently. Team Bandicoot's new #1 (owing to 997 Rik now making rare appearances) won two heats, had four seconds (including one in the final) and a fourth place finish to net 72 points and top the table, but were it not for a series of unfortunate hits on oppo, then incredibly newcomer Moon could have won the meeting, finishing in the top 3 in EVERY points race and also winning a heat in the process; while the benefit of being a white grade in a largely Superstar field on a track where you can't close down drivers quickly certainly helped, 333's consistency and composure was truly remarkable.

In what is becoming a curse for 621, the Micros is the only 2020 Points Championship where he has not won a final and tonight was no different as Devon local 870 Looney claimed the meeting final alongside a heat to finish the evening third with 56 points. 666 Beatdrop was a surprise fourth place overall thanks to a heat win of his own, 993 Vitas claimed the DD on his way to fifth place despite missing the first three heats, 673 Sam won a heat to finish sixth and unsurprisingly "King of the Allcomers" 616 Jam won both non-points races while everyone else was wrecking!

Top 10 scored in heats and final. Two Allcomers were also held. Drivers in 11th or lower finished but did not score points. 5 points went to the DD winner.

Moon is ahead of Sam in the overall points table due to a higher number of second places (Moon's 2 to Sam's 0).

07/08/2020: MICROS ROUND 3 RESULTS & REPORT

The joint lowest turnout of the mini-season saw 8 drivers attend the dangerous Westhill Oval for the third round of the Micros Championship. There was some great racing from all involved and the posts wrecked many racers.

The Dutch dominance continued this evening but it was a different driver from the norm as 620 Hunter won the meeting by ONE POINT from 673 Sam. Hunter's 71 point haul saw him secure three second places before winning his only two races of the night - the final and the DD that secured him the evening's victory. Sam's 70 points had him win three heats and finish second in the final. A surprise third on the night was Beatdrop, who claimed two heats on his way to 56 points. The other winner on the night was Jam who sadly only completed two races due to severe internet issues.

Top 10 scored in heats and final. 5 points went to the DD winner.

Airis is ahead of Vitas in the overall points table due to a higher number of wins (Airis' 2 to Vitas' 1).

18/09/2020: MICROS ROUND 4 RESULTS & REPORT

Just six drivers attended the fourth and final round of the Micros Championship at Gizmo's Stadium. There was a lot of oppo action from the majority involved, bringing some unpredictability to the results.

Taking the round was 666 Beatdrop who had two heat wins, finished 2nd in the final and claimed the DD to come out on top with 74 points. 673 Sam secured top spot for next week's Micros Corona Championship with two heat wins and the final tonight. 621 Miniman also won a heat with 616 Jam completing the winners' line-up.

Top 10 scored in heats and final. 5 points went to the DD winner.
