As in the big cars Icebreaker, Team Bandicoot were the reigning 2 Litre Icebreaker champions, having dominated this event last year with a haul of 74 points. Although Bandicoot were scheduled to compete, they did not do so. Members of Team Bandicoot on the night raced with other teams.
In a similar blitz to last year, one team ruled the heats and then had an incredible 1-2-3 in the final before winning the DD to cap a perfect night for them.
Top 5 scored in heats and final. Allcomers were non-points. Drivers in italics finished but did not score points. 5 points went to the winning team in the DD.

The results say it all: wins in every single race except two, only two point-scoring finishes from thirteen outside the top 5, the top 3 finish in the final: the Midnight Runners' team of three rodders and a wrecker brutally destroyed the opposition to take the 2 Litre Icebreaker crown. When Foster, Kane and Splat teamed up at the end of last season, this sort of result was to be expected from them. The inclusion of Jake C. for this meeting only increased the margin of victory. A special victory for #691 as well as he becomes the sole undisputed 2016 Icebreaker champion, having won the small cars edition with Blooz Boyz a fortnight ago.
Riot Squad just edged ahead of Blooz Boyz in the best of the rest - Looney's 4th in the final claiming that honour - with Nay picking up all of Stinkbridge's points and the Dutch boys of Team Klepdeksel not really impacting on the results, although they came mighty close to the points on a number of occasions.
