2017 Metal Mania Results

An excellent evening saw 12 drivers attend Warton for Metal Mania. The league saw another debutant tonight with 887 Chris, who raced under the name Diesel in the meeting; his best achievement on the night was second in RWD Heat 2 after having led for 10 laps. Jam's conversion of the tight Lancashire circuit (as it was originally a Blackwood layout) proved even more maniacal with the infield edges raised for some impromptu ramp fun! The open barrier also saw many cars get jammed into it which was very funny.

It was a near Team Bandicoot domination as members of their team won all but four of the 12 races. Miniman and Pepino had 3 wins each - the Dutchman three heats (2 in the Unlims and the first RWD heat) and the German took a heat, final and allcomers, all in the RWD formula. The other Bandicoot Dutchman on the night, Rik, picked up the opening race of the night and the big Unlimited final. As for non-TB drivers, Cap claimed an Unlims heat, Michal won the Unlims allcomers and the two of them were the last two standing in both DDs; Cap prevailed over the Czech driver in the Unlims DD but just couldn't get rid of his opponent's XRG with his XRT before the end of the time limit.

All races were non-points.
