One thing that will not be used again, however, is the "oppo allowed at all times in the Allcomers" rule. This proved to be a complete mess as the first Allcomers ended up as an unintentional DD and ruined the racing.
The twenty drivers were split over six teams, with those teams as follows:
RIOT SQUAD
606 Jon
27 Cap
125 Gildo
870 Looney
MIDNIGHT RUNNERS "A"
307 Foster
238 Kane
910 Niall
TEAM STINKBRIDGE
779 Luke
171 Nay
888 Derohk
16 Zotez
TEAM BANDICOOT
474 Miniman
960 Pepino
997 Rik
BLOOZ BOYZ
691 Jake C.
220 Nova
89 Alex
411 Winchy
MIDNIGHT RUNNERS "B"
228 Splat
386 Lukey
Team Bandicoot were the defending champions, having obliterated the field last year with a score of 72 points. Only Pepino remained from the foursome that won the 2015 title, with Kane and Nay now in Midnight Runners "A" and Team Stinkbridge respectively.
This year's meeting was a lot tighter than last time, with four of the six teams fighting out for the title before two of them got ahead of the third and had to be split by the DD.
Top 5 scored in heats and final. Allcomers were non-points. Drivers in italics finished but did not score points. 5 points went to the winning team in the DD.

An amazingly tight battle between the double Bs and MNR's main team went right down to the final race, with both teams locked at 30-30 after 7 events. However, the perseverance of the Blooz Boyz in the the DD got them the wins they needed to take the Unlimited Icebreaker title. The team looked out of it before the final, but a great win by Winchy in the 15 lapper with MNR A only picking up a 5th place set them up for victory. Midnight Runners' A Team must be feeling sick after winning four of the six heats - split equally between Kane and Foster - and yet failed to take the title. It was even worse for their B team who didn't score a single point.
Last year's winners Team Bandicoot fought hard but a lack of multiple places in the heats meant they never looked like contending despite Rik's heat win, and the same could be said for Riot Squad who also had a heat win via Gildo. Team Stinkbridge's main scorer was Nay but with only Derohk picking up any other points, they too didn't get close to winning.
It was certainly a great performance from a team mostly composed of drivers who have never really had respect in LFS Bangers, but put on a display that shows they're more than just controversial: in fact, they're very good racers.
So, without further ado:
